Keep Walking This Road

By Wendy : Shywalker

This road you have chosen, is hard and
well travelled but you do not walk it alone.
You are never alone.

I would walk it for you, saving you the pain
and heartache it will bring, but you must walk
the road yourself.

The biggest hills, the deepest holes, the agonies
of this road, can only be travelled and conquered
by you.

***************

But look behind you and I am there watching,
ready and waiting to pick you up, if and when
you fall.
My arms will be waiting when you grow tired
and need a place to rest.

Look beside you and you will see me, silent,
listening; waiting when you need a voice to speak
or an ear to hear.
You have my strength to lean on--take it, it is
yours.

Look ahead of you, and you will see me there
trying to cover just a few of those holes, lay low
just a couple of those hills.
Trying to make your road a little easier.

I know it will get hard but keep walking this road,
because it's my road too and it would be a very
lonely one without you.
