ANOTHER TIME
By Wendy : Shywalker
This is so unreal, but I was doing it,
I was living my own history.
I was walking the footsteps of my ancestors,
treading the same dirt under my feet.
I was there to teach my forebears,
I was there to save my line.
I didn't count on Mai Chi;
I didn't count on falling in love.
Our eyes that crossed lifetimes,
saw into each other souls.
The lips that brush tentative at first,
sear and branded for eternity.
How was I to leave my soulmate?
How could I abandon that intangible love,
that only exists to live in another time?
The last time I saw her,
she lay bleeding in my place.
I looked at her, so like sleeping form,
praying for one more moment of us.
I kissed her unaware lips goodbye,
thankful at least that she would live.
That is my one faith in leaving,
that even though separated in time,
we will never be apart.
You my love, will be in my heart until the
day it stops beating--and beyond.
