| We've made jokes in the
past about how often the same names creep up in the
episodes. The most common name used in this series is
Carrie (Cruise Missiles, The Promise, Shaolin Shot, Dark
Vision...). Spell it any way you like:-) |

Most of the guest actors
in this episode have been on the show before:
|
Monica Sztybel |
| The reflection of the
Assistant Cameraman (David Perkins) is in Peters
glasses at one point. |

| Script differences | |
| The script has a lot
more dialog. In the scene with the hookers, Peter is
shown walking past the pimp without noticing him.
Something which was excluded from the episode. |

| Jody is the one bringing
the hookers in. Strenlich is behind the muster desk.
Frustrated, he asks Peter to come over and help. Carrie: ...(catching Peter's arm) "Hey, Detective Caine! Where's your dad? Can't get him to come down to the Stem and kick these pimps right back into the gutters on the East side?" Peter: "He's a priest." Jennie: "He's your shadow, ain't he? You walk into the district, make some noise, break some heads, he'll be there. Father and Son." Peter throws off Jennie's arm and moves on. Camera picks up a young Asian man watching Peter. We'll come to know his name is Li Chu. The hookers explain why they need protection. They say a pimp by the name of "Ratchman" (though they like to call him "Ratman") busted a girl's head in. Meanwhile, Blake talks to Peter about the phone messages and juggling relationships. |

| After Caine leaves Peter
alone in the cemetary, Peter doesn't realize he's gone. Peter: "I gotta get to Delancey's." (sighing) "Look, Pop, I..." Camera comes around to Peter to show that Caine has disappeared into the drifting mist. |

| When Peter is asked if
he has a problem with Strenlich and Kelly's relationship,
after he says not at all he gestures to her hands and
says, "They stopped trembling as soon as the chief
sat down." He gets up and says, "Good sign.
I'll be in touch." This is when Kelly warns him about the maniac on the team and he comforts her that he'll be someone else. |

| When Lo Si tells Peter
that Caine's feelings might have been hurt, there's more
to Peter's line. Peter: "I didn't mean to hurt them. I was just...lashing out. At myself really. Blaming him for my own frustrations. My own inadequacies." Ancient: "He will return." |
Monica Sztybel |
| The script hints at the
fact that the coach and the owner were once an item. It's
not persued in the episode. |

| When Jody backs off from
Peter, saying, "That's not the seduction I had in
mind," Peter has an explanation. Peter: "Maybe I just care about you too much to take a chance. My father would say that if and when the time comes that our paths become, not parallel, but one...we'll know." Jody: "But not tonight." (letting him go) "I hate it when you're right. Goodnight, partner." Peter: (a smile) "Goodnight, partner." After he leaves she says the Madonna line:-) |

| Before Peter and the
team go out on the ice for the practice game, there is a
scene in the locker room. Peter is putting on his skates
and he accidentally knocks Jaekel over. Peter: "Sorry." Milton: (as he passes) "You ever take those glasses off?" Peter: "Oui." (the Burt Lancaster smile) "When I skate." Camera follows Milton across the locker room to where Consantine is dressing with Bonaduce and Paulsen. Paulsen: "Something about that guy makes my teeth itch." Consantine: "If he can't cut it he'll be in the hospital by this afternoon." |

| In the tag, Caine says
the seats he has are behind the goal. I'm gladthey
switched it to center ice:-) |
