Blooper: Oops, Chris forgot to remove his rings for the scene in Blaisdell's office.

Inside joke: On the computer screen Two Feathers lives in Mississauga, where the show is filmed.

Watch closely in the background of the shot where Peter and Caine sit at Peter’s desk. The man carrying files into Strenlich’s office looks like Strenlich, because it is. William Dunlop confirmed that he just happened to be on set that day and did that little cameo.

Script differences
The tease is different in the script I have. Rather than show Caine with the students, they just have him meditating. While Caine is sensing Two Feathers' pain, there is the following note:

"The reason he (Caine) was not able to feel the living presence of his son during those years of separation is because his pain and profound sense of loss was too great. Those roads were blocked. Even now he has difficulty connecting with Peter."

Act one starts differently too. They show a lot of the chaos in the precinct, having Caine watch different events take place.

"He stands in the middle of this storm. What he sees tears at his heart - so many people in such pain."

This is apparently his first time there.

Caine meets Strenlich for the first time. It's a cute scene:

A voice breaks through.
Strenlich: (v.o.) "You lost?"
...Caine turns - it takes a beat for him to respond.
Caine: "I'm looking for Peter Caine."
Strenlich: "What's he to you?"
Caine: "I am his father."
Strenlich looks at Caine through new eyes.
Strenlich: "He's back here."

He introduces himself, leading Caine to where Peter is, and asks if Caine is a priest. When Caine confirms this...

Strenlich: "When I was in the Marines I did a tour of Okinawa. Some rednecks from the company hassled this priest - he was Shaolin. Just teasing him at first, then it got a little rougher. There were five of them - when it was over - the rednecks were laid out cold - and the priest wasn't even breathing hard. You know what surprised me the most?" (he doesn't wait for an answer) "Five combat trained Marines and not one of them laid a glove on the priest." (a beat) "Something to see." (Caine shrugs because he has no other response) "You that kind of kick-ass priest?"
Caine: "Nothing of value can be acheived through violence. It should be used when all else fails and then only to defend oneself."
Strenlich: (with a wry smile) "That's exactly what we said in the corps. 'Mess with the best - die with the rest.'"

Strenlich then tells Caine where Peter is and the scene continues with Peter punching the pole.

In the script Peter is more specific as to why he's angry, mentioning the disappearance of Marilyn Blake (from Initiation).

When Peter brings up Blaisdell's name in the locker room, Caine asks, "Your foster parent. The man who raised you after we were separated?"
Peter replies with, "Yeah. My foster father, but that was then and this is now, and now he's the guy that punches my ticket..." and he adds the part about Blaisdell not letting him of for something this vague.

When Blaisdell tells Peter that there are other cops in the precinct who can handle his cases, Paul adds, (to Caine) "I am aware of the positive effect your presence already had, not just in Chinatown, but beyond."
Caine acknowledges the compliement with a bow.

That's it from the script.
