Script differences  
The script shows young Peter going into the cave to check on the injured animal. Then in the present Peter says softly: "I know you're hurting bad, Max... I know you're trapped..."

In the script, when Caine is searching for Peter at the temple in the flashback, there's a bit of backstory as to why Caine is looking for him.

Caine: "I am looking for Peter. Have you seen him?"
Ping Hai: "I see him everywhere. And yet nowhere. He was much disturbed by the little girl's death."
Caine: "He believed my apothecary herbs would save her."
Ping Hai: "But they did not. And so she slipped away..."

The scene continues from there. The script describes Peter's room has having posters of Led Zepplin and Magnum PI.
