May I Ride With You

Debut of Karen the jumper (Nathalie Radford). Not only does she reprise her role in May I Walk With You, but she also portrays the deranged robber in Blackout. Yes, she's the redhead, Megan, who bosses the rest of the robbers around.

Chris Potter's wife, Karen, and second daughter, Quinn, are the mother and baby in the scene where Peter borrows the stroller for the bank robbery.

Chris admitted that it took a lot of convincing to get Karen to do the scene. She's not into acting, and is quite shy. He had told her that Quinn would be on, so Karen had asked that someone else do the scene with Quinn. Finally, she agreed to do it. Once she was done, she floored Chris with three questions only actors would ask:

1) How did I do?
2) How much do I get paid?
3) When is lunch?

Another side note to this...all three questions were asked by Caine and Peter in Flying Fists of Fury 2 in third season. Peter asked if the actress, Mona, gets paid a lot of money for her performance. Caine asked the Ancient when is lunch. And at the end Peter asks Caine how he liked his stunts.

Script differences
One version of the script has Peter and Caine sitting in a donut shop sometime after Dawson is arrested. Strenlich and Skalany are there as well as other cops (some from the stakeout). They are discussing with Caine the move he did on Dawson, calling it the Vulcan Death Grip. Caine says it has many names. One of the cops says, "Sign him up,chief, we're always looking for a few good priests!" Everyone laughs but Peter. He's still annoyed.

Skalany jokes, "Hope you're splitting your day's pay with him."

Peter's not amused. Strenlich and the others try to cheer him up by saying that no one got hurt. He forces a grin and he takes a donut. The others leave him alone with Caine and laugh and joke while Petersits eating the donut.

Caine: "You are still upset?"
Peter: "You could have been killed"
Caine: "There is no other reason?"
Peter: "Sure. Eight hours of paperwork. (off Caine's look) Okay. I lost control of the situation. Shouldn't happen."

Then Caine has a flashback about control. It's different from the one used in the episode. I don't have the whole scene, but it involves Peter getting angry at a fellow student for purposely throwing cheap shots at another student. They fight, Caine breaks them up and excuses the student.

After saving Sarah Jane Collier there's a scene between Caine and Peter in the car which happens prior to the meeting with Matt.

The script describes Peter as "looking weary, feels his jaw."

Caine: "You are sure you are alright?"
Peter: "I'm fine."
Caine studies Peter, a curious look. Peter feels his gaze, looks at Caine, then back to the road, then back to Caine. Beat, then:
Peter: "What? My shirt on backwards? What?"
Caine: "Do you always ask women you help...to dinner?"
Peter: "No. And I didn't ask her out. (beat) She asked me."
Caine: "Ahhhhh."
Peter: "What's the big deal. Skalany asked you out once, didn't she?"
Caine: "She did."
Peter: "Say, you never did tell me how that went."
Caine doesn't respond.
Peter: "That hot, eh."
Caine gives him a look.
Caine: "You really want to know?"
Peter: Uh...no. On second thought, forget it."

The script describes Caine and Peter's arrival at the grill differently. Instead of Peter ordering Caine to "sit" and "stay", Caine automatically finds a hiding place within earshot.

Meanwhile Peter is keeping one eye on the robber across the street from the moment he joins Matt at the table.

When Peter does his speech about control, Caine smiles to himself about the message he gave Peter on the subject. In the episode, it looked more like surprise.
