| Script differences | |
| I have three versions of
the script. Or I should say I have selected pages from
each one. One of the scripts has Kermit and Simms having
a morning after scene before they're attacked, I believe.
I don't have that scene anymore. |
Monica Sztybel |
| Also, one script has the
floor plans to the city as a hologram, spinning around.
One script has the above-ground model as real, but the
underground part is a hologram, spinning around. And the
episode has everything as real, but the three men are
spinning around:-) |

| The Ancient tells Peter
and Kermit that Caine is in another demension, but he
doesn't know where. When Peter and Kermit are in the
Corvair, Kermit tells Peter they should get the book of
Shambhala and go find them. Peter says, "That isn't
where they are." Kermit: "Excuse me. How do you know that?" Peter: "I just do. They're not in Shambhala." Kermit reacts to a series of beeps from his computer. Kermit: "We've picked up a tail." Peter: "I know." Kermit: "What do you mean you know? You 'sensed' it?" Peter: "No. spotted them out the rearview mirror about thirty seconds ago." Kermit: (wryly; re computer) "Better reprogram the thing -- it's supposed to be faster than a human. On the other hand, maybe not a Shaolin cop..." |

| When Peter and Kermit
are caught by the government guys while going after the
gateway crystal, the dialog is different. Peter: "Any more tricks? James Bond gadgets?" Kermit: "Uh...no. What about you?" Peter: "I'm meditating." Kermit: "Not sure if this is the time, Peter. Let's just jump them and hope for the best." Peter: "Ssshh." After Peter and Kermit take out the guys, and Peter says "I did it!", Kermit says, "Runs in the family, right?" Peter: "Of course." |

| The pink script has
Kermit and Simms' kiss being interrupted before it
starts. She's about to remove his glasses when the men
barge in. |

| When Peter says his
cryptic speech in his apartment, Kermit says,
"You're becoming so Shaolin, it's scary. I
apologize, Peter." |
Monica Sztybel |
| As they're making their
plans, Peter says, "If I'm becoming more Shaolin,
you better revert back to mercenary rules. How do we do
this?" |

| In the tag, Strenlich is
about to enter Simms' closed office. Blake says, "I
wouldn't do that, if I were you." Strenlich is
miffed and he wants answers as to where Simms and Kermit
have been. Jordan walks in and pulls him away, asking his
advice as to what to wear on her next stakeout. She
glances at Peter who enters with Caine and gives her a
nod of thanks. She mouths that he's going to owe her for
that. Peter: "Thanks for walking me to school, Pop." Caine: "You are welcome. I just wanted to see if Kermit and...Karen...are alright." Peter glances at the closed door. Nods. Peter: "Something tells me I think they'll be okay." He asks if Selentine is gone forever. Caine says, "Yes and no." Peter: "Why did I know you were going to say that?" When Peter discusses the dream he asks, "You wouldn't happen to know anything about this dream, would you?" Caine: "How would I?" Peter: "Yeah. How would you?" Peter shakes his head and gives Caine a little love slap. |

| In the yellow script,
when Strenlich chews out people for being late, Peter
says, "What's the problem, Chief? I'm a few minutes
late because these nuns who live down the bloc..." Strenlich: "Spare me the rapier Peter Caine wit. I'm in no mood for it." Peter: "Get out of bed the wrong side? Maybe an argument with Kelly? Let me give you a tip. If you don't want her crazed with you..." Strenlich: (exploding at him) "When I need your advice about my love life or anything that happens to be personal to me, Detective Caine, I'll ask you for it. My relationship with your ex-girlfriend...and I do mean ex... is not something I care to share. Got a problem with that?" Peter: (evenly) "Seems like you've got the problem, Chief." This is when he cools down and lists the people who are out of the office. When Jordan comments about how she could have slept in, Peter glares at her and glances around to see if anyone noticed. Everyone noticed. |

| When Peter and Kermit
are in the Corvair and Kermit mentions calling his
contacts, and Peter says they won't know anything, Kermit
asks, "How do you know that?" Peter: "I just do." (beat) "We've picked up a tail." Kermit: (glancing into the mirror) "You sense that too?" Peter: (wryly) "It's a Shaolin Cop thing." |
Monica Sztybel |
| As Peter and Kermit are
leaving Jordan and heading out the door to Peter's apt. Jordan: "...There's something I haven't told you and maybe I should just blurt it out right now." Peter: (a smile) "Be careful. You might just get the same response back." Jordan's lips brush Peter's. Jordan: "Be careful. You mean everything in the world to me." |
Monica Sztybel |
| When Peter and Kermit
are preparing to leave Blake's van, Peter asks Blake,
"Do you want to back out, Blake? Drive away. We'll
take our chances." Blake: "When it comes to the Captain...and your father...I'll do what I have to. Including suspending disbelief." Peter: "We're moved." When Blake tells them to look for a door made of a "titanium alloy", Kermit asks, "What color?" Blake: (panicked) "I don't know." Peter: "He was kidding, Blake. We'll check when we get close." Peter switches off his mouthpiece, looks to Kermit who seems perplexed about something. Peter: "What?" Kermit: "Now you're reading my mind?" Peter: "That is something I wouldn't presume to do." Kermit: "Good. However, if you were, this is what you'd be wondering..." And he goes on to speculate about the government secret. |

| In the tag, Jordan
distracts Strenlich like in the other script, but not
because of Peter. Caine and Peter are on Caine's terrace. When Peter asks Caine if he knows what his dream means, Caine says with a smile, "I do not have the faintest idea." Caine gives Peter a gentle slap and moves away. Peter frowns at him. |
