| The mayor
portrayed a representative from the mayor's office in
"A Shaolin Treasure" |
Monica Sztybel |
| The actress portaying
Marilyn Blake (Lori Hallier) was in Escape as the
reporter Kimberly |
Monica Sztybel |
| One of the Mayor's aides
was the security guard who gets shot in
"Blackout", and I think he's the shoe-shine man
in "Innocent". |
Monica Sztybel |
| Von Flores not only
continues to play Jack Wong in subsequent episodes, but
he's also the murder victim in "Sacred Trust". |
Monica Sztybel |
| Chris Potter once said
that the Chinese he used to send flowers to Cane's room
could have been said in such a way (inflection) to mean,
"Send flowers to the room of death". |

| Script differences | |
| The original script had
Peter showing off his marksman skills to Tan in a firing
range (the room they strung Peter up in)? |
Monica Sztybel |
| They had initially
planned for Peter to kill Chan, but decided - during
filming - to change it? |
Monica Sztybel |
| Accoding to the script,
when Peter is fighting off the thugs in the Agrippa club,
he sees one of them pull a knife and throw it at him. At
that point he has his very first flashback and sees
himself as the 12 year old boy at the temple catching a
spear that Caine throws at him. |
Monica Sztybel |
| In the script, after
Peter is talking to Marilyn Blake outside the Brownstone,
Sho approached and tells Marilyn that he doesn't know how
the Ancient and the "stranger" (Caine) will pay
for their medical bills. Marilyn suggests a collection of
funds from the shop owners. Peter steps in and hands him
a dollar and says, "Just to get the ball
rolling." Then he leaves. |
Monica Sztybel |
| There is a scene in the
script of Peter going to the Agrippa Club after he leaves
the rooftop (when he was ordered to kill Caine, but found
the "room wrecked"). He drinks a beer and
watches Tyler. Ironically, and on purpose for our benefit
I'm sure, he's flipping a matchbook idly. Both Peter and
Tyler wear expressions that reflect their love for each
other. Then it goes to the next morning in Tan's office,
where he lies to Peter about the attack on the Mayor. |

| An additional scene in
the script after Caine kicks Tan through the window: "Caine moves forward to the shattered window, but Peter groans in pain. Caine moves to him in the f.g. (foreground). Peter pushes him away. Peter: Get him! I'm okay! Get Tan! Caine moves over to the fragmeted window." It goes on, showing the disappearance of Tan, then: "Caine moves back into the shot and supports Peter again, easing him forward. Camera tracks them as they move. Peter: He's gone, right? Caine: Yes. Peter: (faintly) When he comes back...and you're right, he will come back...we'll be waiting for him. Together. Caine: Yes. Peter: You sure you never said anything about splinters of light are easily crushed? Caine: Positive... Peter: I was sure I remembered that..." |

| The next scene shows
Blaisdell arresting Marilyn Blake. |
Monica Sztybel |
| The tag is different
too. It doesn't end in the Agrippa Club but in the street
with the people saying goodbye to Caine. The scene at the
Agrippa Club is in there, but this one follows it. Caine
explains that he's not leaving, because he wants to help
the Ancient recover, and "I have a son I need to get
to know again. (a smile) He said he might drop by." |
