| Script differences | |
| The scene at the
precinct in the tease was not in the script. That starts
the tease with Peter catching up with Caine on the
street. In fact, it starts with Peter driving around
looking for Caine and spotting him, then running up to
talk. |
Monica Sztybel |
| There's more dialog
between Peter and the Feds as they're discussing why
Caine has been asked to go undercover. The Feds make
snide hints about what this nightclub is like. Peter and
Caine are suspicious, but clueless. |
Monica Sztybel |
| A lot of descriptions of
Peter's reactions to Lu Mah's discovery that Caine is
Shaolin. When Caine catches the glass the script
describes Peter as he "whitens, hand slides inside
coat, ready to draw his pistol if necessary." Later
on the description reads: "Peter tries to
keephimself from freaking out as Bogard steps up to him,
furious." Then, after Bogard snaps at Peter it says:
"Peter tries to think, tries to stay calm as Bogart
looks him in the eye." |
Monica Sztybel |
| The script has more
going on with the DEA and Peter, as Caine tries to save
Connie in the storage facility (or warehouse). There's a
whole scene where Peter forcibly prevents the DEA agents
from crashing upon the scene and risking his father's
life, and it's done with reason, not violence. Peter:
"You wanna push it? Go ahead! But you're not goin'
in there 'til I know what you're gonna do. Now
do you know or don't you?" They don't. |
Monica Sztybel |
| In the script, rather
than the simultaneous fight, Peter watches his father
losing his battle with Lu Mah. He's hesitant, stunned by
the sight. Bogart is pressing him to make a decision to
act on it or not. I think Caine wins in the end, but I don't have that page of the script. |
