Sandey Grinn (TJ) wrote the first part of the song in this episode :

"I'm a cop on the beat.
Spent my life on patrol.
A cop on the beat.
Spent my life on patrol."

"You're just a regular Joe.
The pay here is minimal.
You've got a right to life.
But don't tell that to a criminal."

And Chris Potter the rest:

"They say I'm a hotshot cop.
But my partners sometimes bore me.
If I can't solve a crime.
My Pop will solve it for me."

"Everyone and their dog's mother carry a gun..."

Script differences:
The tease is a different. Rather than it taking place at Marilyn's, it takes place in Peter's apartment. He's asleep. Meanwhile his Punch and
Judy dolls come to life.

DESCRIPTION: "Punch nudges the Hangman. The Hangman tumbles off the shelf...falling into a sitting position on the desk where Peter's wallet lies beside his holstered gun. The Hangman's eyes blaze with life. His spindly hand with its noose reaches forward. The noose loops around the butt of Peter's gun and slowly draws it out of the holster."

Peter is sleeping fitfully in bed, his breathing shallow.

The Hangman is "dragging the gun by the noose to him. Turning the gun in the wooden fingers so that it points at Peter in the bed. Wooden forefinger curls around the trigger."

Peter comes "awake with a gasp. He freezes. Camera comes around and pulls focus on to his gun in the marionette's clawlike hand aimed right at him."

"Peter throws back the covers and moves slowly toward the desk. Reaches it. Carefully uncoils the Hangman's finger from the trigger. Lifts the .9mm Police glock from the Marionette's hand. Pushes the Marionette which topples over and lies still. Then Peter leans heavily against the desk, letting out his breath slowly, bathed in perspiration, his hands trembling."

Act One takes place in the squadroom. Peter approaches Blake.

Peter: "Cute gag last night, Blake."
Blake: (glancing up) "You mean my folding with a Jack-high straight when all you had were a pair of threes? Real cute."
Peter catches the arm of Detective Janice Morgan, provacatively dressedin leather, heavily made up.
Peter: "So when did you wander into my bedroom? Before the game or in one of the breaks?"
Janice: "I don't even know where you bedroom is. Too bad. Let me know if you want me to find it one night."

He passes Broderick and wonders, but lets it go.

TJ's entrance is the same:-) Only no one is telling Peter he has to break a new man in.

Once TJ is shown a desk, Peter turns to Strenlich and asks him if he played the joke. Frank comments on the card game. Franks leaves. Peter sighs and says, "Well, someone took my gun out of its holster and it wasn't the Hangman." (beat; softer) "Was it?"

The next scene is Kermit's meeting with Caine, but it is held at an outside cafe with the Ancient present.

Ancient: "You are troubled."
Kermit: "You can tell that before I take off my glasses?"
Caine: "The Ancient does not have to look into your eyes to see into your soul."
Kermit: "I'll remember that."

The scene is the same from there.

During the scene where Peter and TJ are at the piano, the script has the
piano starting to *bleed* soon after Caine enters and smiles at them. TJ is the first to notice that this is happening. They finish the song and the piano starts to vibrate. The room begins to shake. Caine has his flashes of the Hamiltons while everyone else is hanging onto the bar for dear life. After that, I think it continues as in the episode, right through the fight in the park.

When TJ gives Peter the silver bullets, instead of telling Peter they can stop a Demon, he says "werewolf".

Strenlich overhears TJ's story about his girlfriend and says, "Like we don't have enough wackos out in the streets, we have to have one in residence."

The description that follows his speech is funny: "Peter smiles, moves away, pauses, comes back, picks up the silver bullets and the small vial of water, puts them into his pocket and moves out of shot."

There's a line in the episode that really bugged me, because it seemed to come out of nowhere. Peter says, "What are you doing here?" It didn't fit, especially since Jason doesn't answer him. I thought it was just odd the way it was handled. In the script, Jason answers him, "Saw you running up the stairs. Gun drawn. Very NYPD Blue. Wondered who you were going to shoot."

Peter sees Jarrot's figure outside the window *before* the dinner scene, not after.
Monica Sztybel
At dinner, when Mitch enters, she says, "That hunk on 'The New A-Team' is to die for." Rather than the entertainment show she mentions in the episode.

Kermit's dialog in that scene is exactly as in the episode.

In the scene where the cutlery is flying across the room, Caine stands there and has a flashback (ouch! ;-) ) of KCC1 deflecting the spears in TOS. Then it goes back to the present. The scene ends the same as in the episode.
Monica Sztybel
In the script Caine accompanies Jack Hamilton to his daughter's room - Mitch's room in the present. There is another scene like the previous one. "Peter runs up the stairs, camera keeping with him, holding as he reaches the 2nd floor landing. We can see Caine and Jack Hamilton standing at the ajar door to Mitch's bedroom. But obviously Peter _does not see them_ (again they are in a _different_ time frame) as he climbs up toward the attic.
Monica Sztybel
At some point Caine and Peter reach the second floor landing and they see Kermit (past or present, I can't remember). He "turns. Looks up. he climbs the staircase toward them. There's a maniacal look on his face. His eyes glow yellow and jaundiced. He smiles, bearing fangs. Kermit's hand on the bannister...covered with black hair."

Caine: "It is not Kermit."

"Peter reaches into his pocket and loads a cartridge into his gun.
Kermit continues to ascend. His voice isn't anything like Kermit's."

Kermit: "Bullet's won't stop me. Don't you know anything about werewolves, kid?"
Peter: "How about a silver bullet?"

"Kermit keeps on coming. Peter's hand trembles with the gun aimed."

Caine: "It is not Kermit!"

"The creature lunges. Peter fires. The creature falls back out of frame. Camera keeps close with Caine and Peter as they run down the stairs. At the bottom is merely the scorched outline of a body on the ground floor carpet."
