Script differences
I have two versions of this script; a white version (the first draft), and a yellow version (4th). The yellow version is more like the episode, so I'll discuss the white one and bring in the yellow when there's a difference.

Both scripts call the Wall of Souls an Ice Wall.

The white version of the script didn't have Nickie Elder in it. Instead it was a Deputy Coroner named Betty who was described as in her forties, ballsy, outrageous and attractive. She explained to the precinct gang that Nickie was in Club Med.

She hits on a few people while bringing in her report. First Blake:

Betty: "Hey, handsome. Thought any more about that trip to the mountains with me?"
Blake: "Didn't a house from Kansas fall on your sister?"
Betty: (reaching Peter) "Secretly he's crazy about me." (sighing) "Course, if you'd give me a tumble in the hay, Detective I could be pursuaded to forget about Blake altogether."
Peter: (a grin) "Not sure my heart could take it."
Betty: "That's the trouble with youngsters today..."

The yellow script does have Nickie in it.

In the white script, when Peter breaks up Randy and Xenia (the first time), Randy tells him to keep his nose out of other people's business. Peter replies: "My dad always says that's my biggest problem. My nose."

When Peter introduces himself to Xenia, and says the poetic line that makes her blush, she says he reminds her of someone. Meanwhile, Peter lays on some more charm:

Xenia: "You do remind me of someone."
Peter: "Tom Cruise? I usually get that with the shades on. Harrison Ford? I usually get that when I'm being chased. One of the Power Rangers?"
Xenia: "You usually get that when you fight?"
Peter laughs.

When they come across Caine, she realizes that it's him who Peter reminds her of.

In the yllow script, while she does say Peter reminds her of someone, they don't use the Tom Cruise line and they don't show her make the connection when they come across Caine.

In both scripts, when Caine and Peter discuss the dead soldier, Caine doesn't say, "Proof, man." All he says is "proof". Peter isn't puzzled. He just says, "Cop talk".

Also, both scripts explain why Peter doesn't do haunted houses. As they're talking Caine says, "I am glad to see you in this place." Peter isn't sure why, but Caine helps him to remember. They go to a flashback where Young Dennis is trying to convince Peter to go to a carnival. Peter is scared, afraid to go, so he lies to Dennis and says he has school work to catch up on.

When Dennis leaves, Caine steps up to Peter and comments about how he had no idea Peter was behind in his studies. Peter admits that it is not the reason why he didn't go to the carnival. He says he's scared but doesn't know why. Caine reminds him that when he was a small boy, Laura took him to a carnival. She was very sick at the time, but she knew Peter would want to go. While inside the haunted house, she fainted.

Caine: "You were terrified. You thought it was your fault."
Young Peter: "But why would that make me frightened of carnivals now?"
Caine: "Your mother died not long afterward. You associated it with that moment of fear. If you can confront that fear in the light of clarity you will discover it is a cowardly creature easily defeated."

The flashback ends and Peter says, "I hadn't remembered until this moment."

In the white script, Caine ends the scene with Wolf with a sober comment about Peter being in danger.

When Xenia looks into Peter's past, he watches her and she talks thoughout. There is also a moment where she sees Laura.

Xenia: "I see a woman with beautiful red hair."

Peter's Mother: "Peter! How I miss you! And your father! Do not be afraid in the carnival. I would have been taken ill wherever we had been. Now I am at peace. You be at peace."

She fades away, and Xenia continues to see the flashbacks.

She anticipates the danger before Peter is knocked out. But she's too late.

In both scripts they show Randy dragging Peter out of her trailer and one of the roustabouts stuffs a letter into his pocket. They end the scene with the camera on his unconscious form.

In the white script Caine is sitting with Peter when he comes to. He's not on the ride, but sitting in front of it. "Peter is groggy, looking at him. He tries to stand. Caine steadies him."

Peter: "Xenia's been kidnapped."
Caine: (gently) "I know. I found you outside her trailer. I found this in your jacket." (showing him the letter) Dr. Freize invites us to the House of Horrors at 4:00 am. Alone. If we do not, Xenia will die."

They arrive at the House of Horrors at 4am. Peter glances nervously within. Caine tries to comfort him by saying he doesn't have to go. Peter insists he must "face down some old demons of my own."

There's the scene with Frieze, Randy and Xenia. Then it goes back to Caine and Peter. They hear Xenia scream. Peter moves forward, but Caine grabs his arm. Caine: "No, Peter! That is what he wants." Both men confront some illusions like Peter does in the episode.

They burst through a door and reach the Ice Wall. "Peter is shivering badly. Caine appears out of the mist and takes his arm. He leads Peter back out the main door. Slams it shut.

"Resting near the Ice Wall, Peter is almost frozen. His teach are rattling like crazy. Caine quickly wraps his coat around his son. A beat, then shakily:"
Peter: "I'm okay. Thanks."
Caine: "We must go through the Ice Wall."
Peter: "Do we call Scotty to rearrange our electrons and beam us through?"
Caine: "That would be the hard way."

This is when Caine brings out the dust that Wolf gave him and tosses it at the ice wall. A tunnellike vortex opens up within it. It is disorienting as they move within it.

Caine: (voice distorted) "Keep your eyes straight ahead."

A gap opens in between them and a "host of wraiths and other creatures descend upon Peter. Among them are demons from Peter's past. His mother. His dead partner, Jody's sister.

Various wraiths: "Peter, you let them kill me. Son, I died because you didn't protect me. Peter, you will die horribly. Come with me to the dark side."

Peter covers his head.

Caine: "They are not real."

Peter faces them. They fade away and Peter, breathing heavily, says, "Let's get Xenia."

The rest is the same as the episode.
