The extra shows up again during two scenes in the nightclub. One scene shows him at the bar, when the undercover dancer points out the suspects in the place to Peter and Caine. Then he's sitting by the stage as the fight breaks out, wearing the same outfit he wore in "Pai Gow".

Script differences
In the script the flashback where Peter is trying to find Caine in the dark occurs as a continuation of the hospital scene. After Peter tells Caine he wants to see Annie (before they go to the Gold Star) they go to a subliminal shot of the emergency room and the flashback:

"....of Caine and young Peter sitting on the temple steps, surrounded by myriad candles, where Caine looks at the small, cracked photograph young Peter carries of his mother. Then we:

Annie's face...eyes closed, breathing shallow. Camera pulls back to show a phalanx of doctors around her, including Dr. Hale and Dr. Garner with Blaisdell and Caroline on the periphery. Camera pulls back further to show Peter standing outside the cubicle. Camera comes around him and closes onto his face as we go to:"

When Peter comes out of the flashback he shakes his head and says softly: "I lied, father. I didn't sense you behind me. You let me hear you. So I wouldn't be frightened any more."

Then he turns and leaves. Then the scene cuts to him in the parking lot. There's no sign of Caine. He sighs, jumps into the Corvette and speeds off.

In the precinct, when Strenlich and Peter argue, the script describes Strenlich as placing a reassuring hand on Peter's shoulder when he says, "She's the only mother I've ever known."

When Caine and Peter enter the Gold Star to go after Randall, Caine and Peter have a dialog.
Caine: "Keep..."
Peter: "Cool? Don't worry, Pop. Sorry. Dad. I'll be cool. You know me."
Caine: (a trace of irony) "Yes...."

When Peter tells Randall that beating up a blind woman is "a tad lower than a snake's belly", Caine says wryly, "Oh, very cool...." Sort of mirrors Peter's line in the bar in "Shaman".

The tag starts with Caine and Peter sparring in the studio. The description is:

"Caine and Peter circuling each other. Peter lunges at his father with two kung fu kicks. Caine easily parries them and sweeps Peter's legs out from under him. Peter scrambles to his feet, even more determined. Another couple of kicks and this time they land. A flurry of hits which Caine parries, but he puts his hands on his son's shoulder and smiles."
Caine: "As the Ancient would say...'better'! Enough for today."

The scene continues from there with a newspaper man thanking Caine for healing his wife. Then Strenlich and Annie come in.
