Unbroken Circle
by Linda Schwartz
I felt guilty for involving you in yet another one of my cases. I thought this one would be easy, escorting two criminals on a plane, one of whom shot my partner.
I apologize for brining you into this, Pop, but you tell me that our souls are as one, that there is no where else you would rather be. Those words warmed my heart.
We're in trouble, explotion in the cockpit. The plane is going down. Before I can do anything I see you take over the controls.
Safe landing. I look into your eyes and we hug briefly, I thank you for saving me.
We must separate, you tell me I will be able to find you. I am doing what I always do, what you taught me at the temple, seeking the light, doing good.
Protecting yet another person from harm, like you are doing right now. And hoping that your alright.
Desperate, I look for you now and I remember a time at the temple when I also looked for you, only then I couldn't find you and I was frightened.
I can feel you now, Pop, just like you said I would. I know exactly where you are. Reunited!
The dust settles. We are at the restaurant where Mary Margaret was shot. I asked you about the time at the temple. You tell me your in my heart as I am in yours.
Truer words were never spoken, Pop!
