Easy Livin
by Linda Schwartz

Did I realize how desperately I needed to get away until Kermit saved my neck when I became reckless.

Then you showed me how "stressed out" I was, Pop. You hinted by telling me you were taking "a few days off". As it turned out I had some time coming to me. Let's go fishing!

I can't believe I'm here, fishing, with you Pop. After fifteen years of you not being here. Now what do we talk about? You say women baseball players who drive sports cars. I laugh and feel the tension leave me. I'm so glad you talked me into getting away from the city, and the precinct.

Our peaceful time together doesn't last before, once again, fate throws us a curve. But we both rise to the challenge of protecting the innocent. Having you at my side means the world to me, Pop. I don't ever want to be without you in my life again.
