CP encounter
by Linda Schwartz
I had the pleasure of being one of the CPals to finally
meet Chris. It was at the hockey game held in March at the Nassau Coliseum on
Long Island. The proceeds went to Skate for Life, it provides open heart surgery
for children from all over the world who might otherwise never receive it.
There was a reception following the game. Here's my little tale:
It was FANTASTIC!!!!!! Chris is gorgeous, no picture does that man justice!
He did a great job at the hockey game, his team won 7-6
He even did a great move on the ice, well he looked like he was going to fall and he did a pirouette and the announcer said he got a 9.8 for that move!
I was sitting with Laura, Vicky, Elise, Tracy, Cindi, her friend Kathleen and another girl, Melody
Another CPal, Cheryl, came and joined us. We sat right next to the ice and I took as many photos of Chris as I could, but he didn't come close enough to us. I think I managed to get one or two shots of him up close.
We were just getting ready to leave the game when we saw him stop a few feet away and give his hockey stick to some Cpals. It was Dawn that got the hockey stick, which she had him sign at the reception.
We got to the reception okay, turned out it was at a club on the Hofstra university campus. We had to wait for the celebrities to show up.
Matthew Perry was the first celebrity to arrive. I came out into the hallway and there was Chris. I had the opportunity to stand VERY close to him. Then I introduced myself and got my picture taken with him, he leaned his head on the top of my head and had his arm around me! (took me a few minutes to breathe again!) I had him sign the On-Sat cover photo. Celia had sent me that picture so I brought it along for him to sign. He said that that photo was taken right after his appendectomy operation.
There were many people asking Chris for
autographs and
photos. He was such a good sport about it. Cheryl asked him if he wanted
something to drink, he said he wanted a beer, Coors Lite. After that he had
quite a few glasses of beer given to him!
Barbara Eickhoff had Chris sign one of her drawings. She showed him the pieces she had with her and was very nervous. Her hand shook as she gave him the drawings to look at. Chris liked them a great deal and tried to assure her that he appreciated them.
Laura asked him if the watch he was wearing was the same one his character, Adrian, wore in "The Waiting Game" movie. He joked, "You watch my watch?" and Laura cracked up. He explained it was just a tag (a prop). The watch he was wearing at the reception was given to him by his wife.
Chris answered the questions about what he was doing next with the reply that he does not wish to rush into another series and is looking into doing movies. Regarding the KF:TLC movie, the studio is still looking over a script (in other words, it's in the works, although I don't want to be quoted as saying it's a sure thing, you know how this kind of stuff can fall apart.)
A group of us were all standing while he went down the stairs and out the door, and someone was looking for him, because his ride had arrived. Well we all decided to leave and we passed Chris while he was outside. We said goodnight and he said "Goodnight Ladies" and waved to us.
One note: Someone at the party called us Girls and Chris corrected him and told him we were WOMEN!
Did I go into the PSZ, well YES!!!!!!!!!! and I'm never coming back.
Well I wanted to let you all know about my CP adventure and YES I have plenty of pics, including a special one of CP holding a baby, it is SO cute.
Another fact that has come up, after I had written this, it has been announced that Chris is indeed moving onto the big screen with two films.
