Raised at the age of five in London/Ontario.

He left his wife Anne and two children from previous marriages behind.
He had his first Broadway role in 1948 and his first feature film in
1959.
Michael Sloan wrote the Part of Paul Blaisdell expreely for his friend,
who already suffered with the cancer. When the strain became too much
Blaisdell character was written out at the end of the second season. He
died three weeks before the episode was aired.
